I love Best Buy and I am pretty sure that you will too.

This place is awful but it wont let you rate it no stars

I sent a version of this to the Best Buy corporation I should think that as Best Buy?s monopolizing choke hold over a huge percentage of the electronics and computer retail market begins to tighten you would be able to afford jobs for the consummate professionals you have displaced. I had the displeasure of engaging with 10 or 12 computer specific sales associates and members of the Geek Squad. All they could do was sweat and fumble like a bunch drama club students after junior prom. Every employee I dealt with proceeded to recommend and grantee products that were not only incorrect for the task at hand but also incompatible with my computer. I don?t ask for much: cup of coffee in the morning a Highlife at night and roof over my head but it sure would be great if when I went into, what is now, one of the only computing and electronics stores in our not-so-tiny metropolitan area that I can get a straight answer out of a valid employee. Over the course of 3 different trips in 3 days I was shuffled around and handed off from one employee to another like Grandma Tilley?s colostomy bag changing duties after Thanksgiving dinner. It was a descent through a gauntlet of inadequacy as everyone I spoke with became more and more inept until somehow I found myself voicing this very complaint to a front door security guard, whom several employees had identified as a manager. I wouldn?t want to buy a cheeseburger from these clowns much less spend thousands of dollars on complex machinery. Maybe if you guys had a drive-thru window your employees would feel more comfortable in the work place. In the end I purchased a working product from a competitor ?the Mac Outlet? who, oddly enough, chooses to staff competent and informed employees.

Very Unhelpful

I will probably never call or visit this Best Buy again. The installation guy was super condescending and would not listen to me. So now I am taking my business elsewhere. I had already talked to a salesperson who told me what I was looking for was instock and that they could perform the service. The installation guy didn't even take the time to listen to me and said they don't do the work I know other Best Buys do. What a jerk. I will tell everyone I know.

Never Again!!!!!

I took My hard drive into best buy to get the data retrieved and they ended up formatting the hard drive!!!! Deleting everything on it Costing me a lot of time and Money! I ended up taking the hard drive to a local computer repair store "The computer Geekz" and they were able to get some of my files for me when best buy told me it was hopeless. I suggest to anyone thinking about using this over priced service to check out some of the smaller local computer repair stores near you at least they seem to care and are not held back by a corporate face!

Best Buy

Best Buy is not my favorite store. I bought a camera there recently and later found it at Office Depot for considerably less money. Perhaps that means I wasn't a good consumer, but now I'm leery about Best Buy. There is something institutional and unpleasant about Best Buy. It doesn't feel warm and friendly -- it feels like a warehouse. The staff is eager to help, but they do not seem to be particularly expert about the merchandise. Also, their selection of DVDs is not the best. I'd rather order my DVD's from amazon.com. At Best Buy, the only information you get about the DVD is on the box. That can't be compared to amazon, where you can read customer reviews and really learn about the products you buy.
